New Project?

Howdy!

I can’t seem to stick to what i set out for myself to do. Am i bored of the blogging, am i slowing down due to brain function, have i no time on my hands or is it all of the above. Hmmm.

Anyway just typing to ask what any of you reckon to me fashioning some sort of website out of the spare internets lying around.
I was thinking some kind of weird things style website, based around people beliefs of strange animals or goings on, phoney magic tricks done with cameras which may be physically impossible and cryptozoology.

If i did this new site what should i call it has anyone any ideas. I could make it into a sort of blogging community website too which would be nice and that way maybe there will be a stream of content instead of bits and bobs.

So one name i was thinking was ‘Aint no such thing’ because it sounds funny and kind of says what most of the content may be.

Oooh and if anyone could give me a hand with stuff i’d be very appreciative. Let me know…

Cheers.

Heavy metal or no metal at all

Had to click on a link earlier which read ‘Heavy Metal not just music its a religion’. It made me think of Manowar, who are awesome and this is precisely how they think. They believe Heavy metal is a way of a life and much more than music and it seems some people are going along with it now. I love some metal but this was just funny.

Just saw this on metal hammer along with another article.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father,
Who art in metal,
Lemmy be thy name,

Thy hairs be spun,
Moshpits to come,
At Hammerfest as it was in Wales,

Give us this day our daily death metal,
And forgive us our bodyslams,
As we forgive those who bodyslam against us,

And lead us not into Christianity,
But deliver us from Cliff Richard,
For thine is Metallica, Megadeth and Gojira,

Slayer forever,
Amen.

Haha
The article i looked at on there was http://www.metalhammer.co.uk/news/independent-on-sunday-asks-will-metal-be-a-religion/

Take a look at the guardians article on it.http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain/census-2011-heavy-metals-not-music-its-a-religion-1886350.html Praise Halford!

Also i didn’t realise Sikhs were a race and not just a religious people.

I see this all as good fun and i’m not too bothered. But would rather have more people be honest. That way it would show the government the religious majority or maybe the non- religious majority. Hmmm.

Go and listen to Manowar. Metal!

But i can’t swim! / Liquid space?

Sorry for my lack of blogging recently i have been busy and lazy when not busy.

I have a dead laptop and limited time to do stuff so thats my reason.

Ooh about the title it seems i came across an article earlier today which read: Early universe was a liquid.

and so i shall share this piece of interesting intrigue…

it is from Here!

Early Universe Was a Liquid, Nuclei Collisions at the Large Hadron Collider Show

ScienceDaily (Nov. 23, 2010) — In an experiment to collide lead nuclei together at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider physicists from the ALICE detector team including researchers from the University of Birmingham have discovered that the very early Universe was not only very hot and dense but behaved like a hot liquid.

By accelerating and smashing together lead nuclei at the highest possible energies, the ALICE experiment has generated incredibly hot and dense sub-atomic fireballs, recreating the conditions that existed in the first few microseconds after the Big Bang. Scientists claim that these mini big bangs create temperatures of over ten trillion degrees.

At these temperatures normal matter is expected to melt into an exotic, primordial ‘soup’ known as quark-gluon plasma. These first results from lead collisions have already ruled out a number of theoretical physics models, including ones predicting that the quark-gluon plasma created at these energies would behave like a gas.

Although previous research in the USA at lower energies, indicated that the hot fire balls produced in nuclei collisions behaved like a liquid, many expected the quark-gluon plasma to behave like a gas at these much higher energies.

Scientists from the University of Birmingham’s School of Physics and Astronomy are playing a key role in this new phase of the LHC’s programme which comes after seven months of successfully colliding protons at high energies. Dr David Evans, from the University of Birmingham’s School of Physics and Astronomy, and UK lead investigator at ALICE experiment, said: “Although it is very early days we are already learning more about the early Universe.”

He continues: “These first results would seem to suggest that the Universe would have behaved like a super-hot liquid immediately after the Big Bang.”

The team has also discovered that more sub-atomic particles are produced in these head-on collisions than some theoretical models previously suggested. The fireballs resulting from the collision only lasts a short time, but when the ‘soup’ cools down, the researchers are able to see thousands of particles radiating out from the fireball. It is in this debris that they are able to draw conclusions about the soup’s behaviour.

Two papers detailing this research have been submitted for publication and posted on: http://xxx.lanl.gov/abs/1011.3914| and http://xxx.lanl.gov/abs/1011.3916|.

This research is funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

Thank you people at CERN.

Ooh and a question do you think i should go to the QED Con or Blackpool Magic Con…. Hmmmm Indeed too complex a quandary for my mind alone.

Bad Universe

I’m going to make this short. I watched the first episode of Bad Universe today and loved it. Its such a clever show and very entertaining just like any show that makes things go boom.

Phil Plait is also excellent in this and presents everything in chunks which your brain can feed on quite delightfully.

So yeah watch it, just a suggestion. Its too good to just pass on by.
The fate of the world may be in your hands.

Boom (Asteroid Doom)

Here is a sneak peaky thing from youtube.

Now off to amazon to buy his book.

Death from the skies!

Weird Funny Awesome

I just found a site which is hilarious it has news from what i assume is international and its just crazy.
For example the top article today on this site is about a couple of teens in America who vandalised a hotel swimming pool using their own feces. Nice…. and then some things about a man who stole hot dogs by hiding them in his pants. Tasty…

So yeah it seems like a fun new site i shall pop a link here POP!

And from the Metro there is a woman who apparently has Bananaphobia. Hahahaha. Linkage!

For those who have played any fallout games check out the Brahmin Mooo

Oooh is there any people who are interested in going to see Rebecca Watson and Richard Wiseman at SITP in Sheffield. They will be there October 11th and January 17th.
Let me know, don’t leave me on my lonesome please. I would go to the one in Notts but i have work tuesdays although i am currently trying to get out of working tuesdays .

And for those who are interested in the QED if you are local let me know otherwise i will end up more than likely going alone.

Thanks….

Just saying thanks to NSFW show for giving me more songs/videos that just make me happy.

If anyone doesn’t watch/listen to NSFW then you are missing out on fun and some crazy videos and just awesomeness.

Yesterday, Today and Podcast

Yesterday i went down to Derby with a few friends. It was my first visit there and it seemed alright enough apart from a few things.

No place had any 100% cotton thread which was lame.

I saw a guy from ‘Most Haunted’ and an advertisement for a “Ghost Walk” he was doing in a pub next to the centre.

And one of the weirdest things i have seen which was people in a shop sat on benches with their feet in fish tanks…..

Yeah thats weird enough right but apparently these fish eat dead and rotting skin off your feet and generally swim around them. So yeah that was weird but not the thing that annoyed me about it. What annoyed me was when i read a sign on the window which said these fish help to relieve pain, stress and promote healing through the fishes use of accupuncture points… this was when i turned round and together with a friend we both exclaimed “Pseudoscience!” which a few people heard and yeah i just wanted to tell the people half of what they had read seems a bit unfounded as far as i know.

Anyway the place was called ‘Appy Feet’. This is the link. Pow!

Take a look and tell me what you think or ya know just talk a look and decide for yourselves whether this is bullshit or what.

I met with an old friend and had my first ‘Nando’s’ experience which was awesome i had the sauce from the black bottle apparently my friends thought it might be too hot for me but i love to prove people wrong and so i did i covered most of my food and loved it although it could have been spicier. I did a few tricks whilst in there i did a few card tricks and some tricks to do with how to hide things and not get caught or to double bluff where you hide a coin in one hand. It was all fun and shown them a bit of psychology in practice as it were by doing said tricks. I was happy when they said i should start to put on shows. Made me smile.

All i replied with was i have a waistcoat on the way…

One of my friends Luke Kondor also had a stand up gig in Birmingham so hopefully that went all well. If you get a chance go and watch him.

Also i told my good friend Rich he did well when i person recently told him to try going to a chiropractors for his back and then we ended up doing my podcast primarily on Chiropractic which was a lot of fun and we may go to one for a free screening to check it out first hand.

The podcast should be up later tonight once i have edited it i haven’t had the time due to being at work. The podcast wasn’t our best work due to us being tired from walking and being out in the rain for what seemed like a couple of miles outside of Derby centre. We even had to buy new clothes due to being soaked which made a few folks chuckle. So that is all about yesterday.

So i have one thing to say about today which is i felt sad because i helped an old-ish lady through the checkout today and she said not to pack heavily because she was in agony and because i wanted to make conversation to help with the awkward silence-ness so i asked what have you done. To which she replied i have cancer… at this point i could have cried i felt horrible and the lady said it in a really hushed tone and didn’t feel comfortable. So like a complete douchebag i tried to lighten the mood talking about my Grandad who had his leg amputated because of cancer and who never wanted to wear his false leg which she chuckled about which was nice and basically i got her laughing and talking about it. Then she broke into smiling whilst saying bye. I felt a mixture of relief, horror and just sadness. I just wanted to hide after that person. Glad she smiled though…

Thanks for reading. There will be a post once the podcast is up.
