Tonight me and a few others are going to Nottingham to watch Ali Cook.
The name might ring a bell because he was one of the first guys on Penn & Tellers’ Itv show Fool us. Ya know the guy who swapped the head of a duck and chicken, which was awesome!
He also used to have a show on tv with Pete Firman called ‘Monkey Magic’.
The show tonight is only £4, so to miss this would be just foolish and it is at the Canalhouse. More people should come to this one, i’m looking forward to this. Its less than five minutes from a train station too.

So todays SITP was at the Fellows Morton and Clayton in Nottingham and featured a talk by Iszi Lawrence and it was awesome.
The talk consisted mainly of comedic interpretation of what being skeptical is and a bit about atheism and other religion which was cool, Iszi really seemed to work the audience well and had everyone laughing in no time which made the atmosphere enjoyable even though the space in the room was severely limited, due to Andy not knowing how many people would show up and so we filled the little upstairs roomy balcony-ish thing and some people had to sit below and listen.
The talk was funny and lined with laughter from the audience due to some of Iszi’s anecdotes and opinions, it made for a real fun night and yeah she seemed really nice and we had a quick chat during the interval and she seemed genuinely nice and chatty. She does also seem to have a bit of a crush on either Alan Rickman or just his mouth/voice. Fun. Would enjoy watching her comedic stylings once again especially in the setting of an actual comedy gig. Also go check out her podcast called the ‘Sunday Supplement’.
All in all it was great and i can’t wait till the next talk next month by Rebecca Watson which is something about ‘etiquette for skeptics’. Ooooh.
Cheers for the people who read this. I was super tired when typing this so it probably just repeats itself. Ah well.

I was just talking to someone yesterday about seeing Pete Firman and i realised it isn’t long now and i am so excited. He has got to be one of the UK’s top magicians and he is in Nottingham at ‘Just the Tonic’.
I can’t wait here is his site http://www.petefirman.co.uk/ watch his videos and buy his book. I have.
Here are the details for the show i’m going to in October. Details for the show..
Finally did a new podcast today but i couldn’t do much of one due to my laptop and it being broke. Pity but all i spoke about was QED and a few SITP events that are fairly local.
So woo hopefully it is absorbed into the beast that is Itunes by now.
Might get my ticket after pay day and then it’ll be time to find a suitable place to stay and maybe someone to go with.

I just found a site which is hilarious it has news from what i assume is international and its just crazy.
For example the top article today on this site is about a couple of teens in America who vandalised a hotel swimming pool using their own feces. Nice…. and then some things about a man who stole hot dogs by hiding them in his pants. Tasty…
So yeah it seems like a fun new site i shall pop a link here POP!
And from the Metro there is a woman who apparently has Bananaphobia. Hahahaha. Linkage!
For those who have played any fallout games check out the Brahmin Mooo
Oooh is there any people who are interested in going to see Rebecca Watson and Richard Wiseman at SITP in Sheffield. They will be there October 11th and January 17th.
Let me know, don’t leave me on my lonesome please. I would go to the one in Notts but i have work tuesdays although i am currently trying to get out of working tuesdays .
And for those who are interested in the QED if you are local let me know otherwise i will end up more than likely going alone.

Awesome. The train was nice, quiet and fast to Nottingham, the place easy to find and the event was just great. Enjoyed it all, even the uncomfortable silence during the beginning when Andy and Hayley found out that Hayleys laptop hadn’t got a VGA port so some nice guy had to pop home to find one with the correct port.
Meanwhile everything seemed really quiet and folk didn’t seem to be making any noise which was weird.
Even when the guy came back with a laptop it wasn’t necessarily used as Hayley pretty much did the talk from memory. The talk was awesome with some really clever stuff saying from Hayley and a few audience members.
The topic was about Paranormal stuff and featured things on EVP, Orbs, Most Haunted and places in which Hayley has gone to and found out that it was basically people trying to scam them and/or places in which other investigators had been and ended up scaring the people in residence and/or didn’t help them whatsoever.
We also spoke about what exactly is a ghost and how orbs appear in pictures which made for good discussion. A guy who is going to do another talk at the Navigation was there too, it was Tony Youens who has been on TV quite a few times and here is a link to his site. Pow!
It was a pity i had to get the train because my friend wanted to go home early, otherwise i would have stopped to chat as Andy (the organiser) seemed like a really friendly guy and generally a welcoming dude.
And of course Hayley was lovely but i was a bit shy at first and was a bit afraid of talking but they were cool.
Hopefully i can get to some more and maybe go to other places such as Leicester or Sheffield Skeptics in the pub. I would also like to get more involved in these type of events or even create my own events more local to me sometime. But we shall see in the future i suppose.
